Simplicity and honesty.
Every designer dreams of the perfect client, who is open to pushing the boundaries, quite literally.
The brief for this family home was to simply fit the somewhat awkward site of just 200 metres square. We could not have asked for a more unique project. The home hunkers down into the site, hugging the hill and fitting perfectly to the tight recession angles. Kiwi ingenuity led the client to build this design where truth to materials is evident. No one element is hidden and each space welcomes the use of timber. Simplicity and honesty by definition, the perfect example of kiwi ingenuity and our unique form of New Zealand architecture.
